HIGHWORTH Tennis Club is looking forward to another great spring and summer in 2016.

The courts are ready for all-weather play and a new fee schedule has been introduced for the 2016 membership year starting March 1 which includes new family and couples categories plus the ability to pay by card and in instalments.

Meanwhile, the club finished the Swindon & District Summer 2015 league with the Men’s B team of John Page, Matt Doel, Simon Hennell, Mitch Bakos, Steve Kavanagh and Allen Midwinter winning Division Three.

Highworth will be entering at least three teams in this coming Summer League starting in April.

The adult and junior players are participating in the Aegon Team Tennis Wiltshire competition this spring.

The LTA sponsored three Open Day weekends all around the UK in 2015 called the Great British Tennis Weekend with a lot of interest from people who became new members.

The club are set to run these open days again this year and the first will be on Saturday, June 11.

The tennis also had a booth and mini court set-up at both at the Highworth Town six-a-side tournament and the Highworth Town Juniors six-a-side event.

There are numerous coaching sessions which are run at the club and are open to all children and adults of any standard that are interested in learning tennis with an LTA Licensed coach.

Junior coaching is paid on a monthly basis, with a lower rate for members.

For adults, the club has Pay-as-You-Go sessions open to both members and non-members. Non-members are also welcome to join adult social sessions, with a Sunday social from 2-4 pm especially for beginners.

Participants can be coached by a club member or just play matches for fun with others.
