WELFORD Road is still the most fearsome venue on the Aviva Premiership schedule - according to former Leicester Tiger Horacio Agulla.

Bath make the trip to their fierce rivals on Sunday in a crunch Premiership clash.

The Tigers have been the benchmark side in England for much of the past two decades, although they have been crowned champions just once in the last five seasons.

However, Argentina international winger Agulla - who left Leicester for Bath in 2012 - says the trip to the East Midlands is no less formidable these days.

“They have been playing well this season but so have we so we know it is going to be a tough game,” said Agulla, who is in line to make his first appearance of the season for Bath after returning from World Cup duty with the Pumas.

“Every time you play them it’s a tough game. We have done really well against them recently at home but it has been a while since we won at Welford Road.

“It’s a massive challenge going there. I think it’s the most daunting venue on the calendar.

“There’s a lot of history there and the crowd make the atmosphere very intense so it is quite daunting when you walk out on the pitch.

“That is one of the challenges we have to face but hopefully we can play to our best.

“We know we need to start winning more games in the Premiership and hopefully we can do that this weekend.”
