ADAM Sullivan’s brace of tries, including a last-gasp effort, proved enough for Trowbridge to get past struggling Reading at Doric Park.

Lloyd Davis kicked an early penalty for the hosts but the strong Reading pack fought back, setting up a rolling maul that led to their first score from prop Mark Roberts and conversion from fly-half Steve Mills.

Both sides continued to test out each other’s defences and, from a quick throw-in number eight Sullivan went over, Davis adding the extras for the half-time lead.

Reading regained the lead after Trowbridge had been awarded a free kick then lost advantage from the quick tap-and-go by losing the ball.

Reading spread the ball wide to wing Stuart Bortwick who broke through poor tackling to score out wide, Mills adding the conversion.

The hosts continued to concede penalties, allowing Reading a platform to break through the defence and send in Max Proctor, Mills adding the extras.

Trailing by 11 points, Trowbridge full-back Josh Frost began to show his pace, breaking through the defence to link up with prop Lee Fairclough who scored.

Davis again converted before, with time running out, Trowbridge snatched the winning score.

After a series of reset scrums, Sullivan forced his way over to score, Davis adding the conversion.
