SUPERMARINE Ladies pushed all the way but could not not overcome London Welsh on Sunday as they went down 19-29.

The game began with Supermarine having ball in hand from the start and London Welsh playing some very quick rugby and take advantage of the conditions.

It worked as the visitors managed to put two quick tries past Supermarine from turnovers.

Supermarine responded, centre Bel Martin-Mulholland getting the home side’s first try of the game. After some great forward play created a gap for the backs, Martin-Mulholland was able to go in for the score.

London Welsh came back hard, putting some more points on the board.

After a penalty came Marine’s way, a great chase off a kick resulted in outside centre Nat Williams scoring, then converting, Supermarine’s second try.

The second half began very well with Supermarine putting in some hard tackles as London Welsh had ball in hand from the kick off.

It was a big battle between the two sides for what seemed like most of the second half. After some great play from London Welsh they found an overlap and managed to score another try.

Supermarine then managed to dig deep and got a response, driving Leanne Sear over the line for a further five points.

That ended the scoring as Welsh held out of the win.

Forward of the match went to Donna Martin-Mulholland and back of the match went to Nat Williams. Supermarine next face Plymouth away on the October 12.
