A GBH suspect has been arrested after a suspected assault in a Trowbridge pub garden over the weekend.
An attack on a man in his 40s in the Kings Arms at around 11.50pm on Saturday night left the victim with serious facial injuries.
Police attended in response to a 999 call and then arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm at the scene.
As of Sunday afternoon, the suspect remains in custody for questioning.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the serious assault while the investigation into the circumstances of the offence continues.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to the assault outside the pub or who may have seen anything that may have taken place inside the pub prior to the assault to please get in touch.
"If you can help, please call 101 quoting the reference 54240045191."
