Members of Trowbridge Musical Theatre are celebrating finally being able to bring their latest show ‘A Walk Through the West End’ to the stage after a 16-month wait.

The musical was originally planned to go on at the Arc Theatre next to the Wiltshire College & University campus in Trowbridge in November 2021.

But the theatre group was forced to cancel the production at the last minute when the Arc Theatre halted performances from local groups.

Now many months later they are finally bringing their compilation of favourite musicals to the stage at The Civic on Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28, from 7.30pm.

The compilation show features hits from favourite musicals including Les Miserable, Six, Hairspray, the Lion King, Everybody Talking about Jamie, Waitress, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and Mama Mia.

Trowbridge Musical Theatre was formed in 2012 by merging two Trowbridge theatre groups, Trowbridge Amateur Operatic Society and Trowbridge Youth Theatre.

A spokesperson said: “We are now linking ourselves more closely with the county town with the name.”

Trowbridge Musical Theatre normally produces two musical shows per year in May and November, together with other concerts and showcases.

On stage, behind the scenes or front of house, the group is always keen to welcome new members.
