TWO men cycled over 900 miles from Melksham to Monaco in June earlier this month to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Glen Blacker and Ben Whitehouse, both from Melksham, took on the mammoth 10 ten-day ride through France, raising and managed to raise around £1,000 for the local air ambulance charity.

Mr Blacker said: “It was pretty incredible. It was a hell of a thing. It was a lot tougher than we thought. We knew it would be hard.

“It was a lot hillier than we planned but that is part of the adventure especially the first two or three days. Monaco and Monte Carlo are just incredible. The opulence there.

“It is the first time I have been to MonteCarlo. The cars, the yachts are just amazing. We would like to do something again. Maybe not that ride.”
